The extensive cover-up perpetrated by bishops, archbishops and cardinal archbishops, is a crime

Not speechless just sad… I am very aware that I cannot make anyone involved in the sexual abuse in the Church reject the evil that they have embraced. I am powerless to change the past. I agree that this debacle should never have happened.  It is not just a sin but a crime. The extensive cover-up perpetrated by bishops, archbishops and cardinal archbishops, is also a crime, and it hurts my heart. Many of the perpetrators of the sexual abuse and perpetrators of the massive cover-up are dead now. Many of them should have died in prison.

The incredibly disheartening thing for me both as a survivor of sexual abuse and as a priest is the continuing opaqueness of so many in the hierarchy of the Catholic Church surrounding this issue.  The ones guilty of continuing this cover-up should resign. Secrecy has not helped anyone, not the victims, not the priests who abused, not the individual dioceses and especially not the Church.  Opaqueness and secrecy have not and could never work. The idea that the laity do not have a right to know this information is disingenuous.   They are the ones asked to continuously pour money into diocesan coffers.

How many laypeople have left the Church? How many souls have been lost to Satan? Was it Satan who orchestrated this? He is the father of lies and all that seems to be coming from the mouths of many prelates are lies.

The Old Testament does speak of an incurable wound. Wound care dictates that the wound be cleaned out.  That can be very painful. This too is a wound to the faithful that needs to be cleaned out.  God knows what that entails.   This wound is only incurable if those in charge keep doing nothing.  Souls are being lost.  Do something.

About follow1in3

I am a Roman Catholic priest ordained for the Diocese of Wilmington, DE who is also a victim of clergy sexual abuse. I am often angered by the insensitiviy and hostility of other clergy, the hierarchy and the so-called people-of-God. If clergy, bishops included, really and truly understood abuse, (any kind of abuse), I would not feel the need to blog on occasion. It is very frustraing.
