“The UN report also severely criticized the Holy See for its attitudes toward homosexuality, contraception and abortion and said it should change its own canon law to ensure children’s rights and their access to health care are guaranteed.”

First of all who the hell is the UN to tell the Catholic Church to change centuries of scripture and tradition…core beliefs of Catholicism? Would they ever tell the Muslim Religion to fundamentally change their core beliefs?  Second, having been molested by a priest myself how would a change in the Church’s opposition to abortion or contraception have helped me?  It is in no way logical.  (Personally I’d rather be alive and able to deal with my molestation than to have been aborted and never have been molested at all.)  It is just someone with an agenda trying to ram it down our throats.  Third, homosexuals are called to be chaste.  I know that chastity is not trendy nor is self denial of any kind but not having sex is what priests, heterosexual or homosexual, are supposed to and promise to do.

When the UN writes things like this it shows it’s anti-Catholic bias and how much it is a real danger to the world.  And then when an organization such as SNAP jumps on this bandwagon of tripe it only damages its own credibility as a caring organization. (Abortion is in no way caring.  Feminists should be outraged that the, “support for women”,  has been so perverted as to mean abortion and not the care for all women and their children.) 

Understand this…if Canon Law had been followed by the bishops world wide then this would not even exist as a scandal.  It is all of those bishops who covered the abuse up, allowed it to continue, transferred molesters to different parishes or scuttled them off to other dioceses, and who did everything in their immense power to keep this in the dark that caused this evil.  Taking that a step further if priests who made the promise at their ordination of refraining from sexual relations, heterosexual or homosexual, had honored that promise then we would have no scandal.

Yes I would like to see the bishops and priests responsible for this ongoing nightmare pay and/or go to prison.  I would like to know by name those who afflicted the Church with this scandal.  But the UN has shown itself, once again, to be a huge, ugly, unfunny joke.
