Yesterday I was at a meeting with a number of priests and once again the press took the brunt of the blame for the clergy sexual scandal.  I did point out that it was because of the handling, or non-handling, of the perpetrators by the bishops and other powers that be that was why there was a scandal at all.

It really is tiring.

These priests, (like a lot of priests I fear), do not, or refuse to, understand/believe that the press would not have had anything to report if allegations of sexual abuse against clergy members were dealt with immediately.
