There are some dioceses and archdiocese in the United States that have had to file for bankruptcy due to the clergy sexual abuse and the lawsuits that were generated by the sexual abuse.  Here are the ones that I know about; Wilmington, Davenport, Spokane, Portland, Milwaukee, Cleveland, San Diego, Tucson, Fairbanks. 

Abuse went on for years.  Bishops and archbishops lost their way and stopped following the teachings of the Church.  Collectively they stopped following the teachings that were established by God the Father and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  The establishment of the spiritual guidance that we christians claim to live-by can be traced to the Old Testament. 

Everyone is sinful…everyone…but we the people expect more from our religious leaders. And certainly God expects more.
