The thing that is happening in the Roman Catholic Church may seem new but really isn’t new.  We have priests and nuns running amuck and refusing to teach actual doctrine of the Church.  The result of that bad catechesis is ignorance.  Abortion is not ok and people like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Kathleen Sebelius are not, I’ll repeat that, NOT good Catholics.  Being anti-life and being Catholic are mutually exclusive.  You can call yourself anything you would like but that doesn’t make it so.  Just because I tell someone I’m the deposed king of Hungary doesn’t make it so.  (I’m not even Hungarian!)  You cannot disobey what it is that makes a person Catholic and then call yourself a Catholic, let alone a “good” one.

So many errors have been taught and so many stabs at catechesis have been off the mark that the harm has been to the Church and too her people.  What should have been corrected by bishops went ignored, emboldening dissenters and error teachers.

I do admit that this is the long way around but it leads to the sexual scandal in the Church, the unwillingness of some bishops to correct/make amends for it and truth be told the fact that so many bishops world-wide ignored the problem when it was brought to them…that in itself is so un/anti-Catholic that it makes me want to spit dragon fire..just like they have ignored the teaching of errors to the faithful. Part of Psalm 11; “See the wicked bracing their bow; they are fixing their arrows on the string to shoot upright men in the dark.  Foundations once destroyed, (dare I say by teaching error and ignoring social sin), what can the just do?”   The just here would be the men and women in the trenches fighting for the Catholic Church.  

As we see in the psalms this is not a new phenomenon but something that has gone on for millenia.  I take comfort in knowing that God never changes.
