In this case the Catholic League is wrong

This letter is in reference to an article that appeared on <cl@catholicleague.org> accusing the Philadelphia District Attorneys Office of being malicious.  Some of the facts in the case do not bear on the case brought against Msgr. Bill Lynn but still are more than relevant to the case against the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.  In this case the Catholic League is wrong.

Please tell me how it is malicious to prosecute a priest for breaking the law? I am not only a priest but I have also been a victim of clergy sexual abuse that happened to take place in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. I do not think that the prosecutor in Philadelphia is in any way wrong and sincerely wish that prosecutors across the country would act to prosecute law breakers.

In this case if you remove the laws that were broken from the equation you still have immorality, deceit, and endangerment of minors, (and others). That behavior my friends is malicious and anti-Catholic.

About follow1in3

I am a Roman Catholic priest ordained for the Diocese of Wilmington, DE who is also a victim of clergy sexual abuse. I am often angered by the insensitiviy and hostility of other clergy, the hierarchy and the so-called people-of-God. If clergy, bishops included, really and truly understood abuse, (any kind of abuse), I would not feel the need to blog on occasion. It is very frustraing.
