Anger, Jesus, Bishops, Abuse

In the gospel today Jesus gets angry setting precedence for us to get angry too.  The Pharisees, (a.k.a the current bishops), were hard-hearted, (sound familiar), that people weren’t being put first but the law was…   That very obviously is not of God.  Just sayin…

People are more important than Church assets also. People are more important.  It’s hardly a stretch to say Jesus would be angry at this too, both what has happened and the way it has all been handled.

Let me clarify this first for anybody who might get confused.  I am NOT Jesus.  However I have experienced the same hard hearts like those of the Pharisees in scripture.  Those hard hearts have been both other clergy as well as a scary number of the faithful.  This nonsense in the Church has to stop and it can only be stopped by bishops.  Then and only then can the Church start the work she should be doing in combatting sexual abuse, all abuse really, that negatively effects so many.   Pray.

About follow1in3

I am a Roman Catholic priest ordained for the Diocese of Wilmington, DE who is also a victim of clergy sexual abuse. I am often angered by the insensitiviy and hostility of other clergy, the hierarchy and the so-called people-of-God. If clergy, bishops included, really and truly understood abuse, (any kind of abuse), I would not feel the need to blog on occasion. It is very frustraing.
