People in dioceses, archdioceses, and/or parishes who have had to come up with plenteous amounts of cash in order to settle suits brought against them by sexual abuse victims have been blaming the victims ad nauseam really have only the hierarchy to blame.  Maybe they are not victims of sexual abuse at the hands of priests but they are victims of the lying that bishops did, the moving around of priest offenders that bishops did.  Everyone in the Church is victim.   I like the word victim, that’s what Christ was for the world, an innocent victim.  If the word victim is good enough for Christ, who embraced the word, it is good enough for me.  I’m not speaking of a ‘woe is me’ victim mentality I’m talking about surviving the nightmare of abuse and eventually coming out stronger.  Survivor?  Yes!  Victim? Yes too!
