Abuse, Trust, the Holy Spirit

Having been abused myself I know what a train wreck life can be after abuse.  The ability to trust anyone again is obliterated…that is untill it comes down to trusting in order to get desperately needed help to be rescued from the abyss or offing yourself.  Check out www.grieftograce.com  Since it is not Church sponsored it is more attractive for people with trust issues.    It relies on the passion of Christ in a retreat/psychological boot camp setting and is for everyone who has suffered abuse of any kind.  It is a good resource.  (However it’s not inexpensive.)

Trust…  People shouldn’t be put in a position that they do not trust in the Church any longer.  That is what has happened because of the bumbling and inaction of the hierarchy.  Even the Holy Spirit can be frustrated, at least temporarily, by human weakness/sinfulness/stupidity/pridefulness et. al.   Seeking out the most in need of healing will not be cheap but it is much more costly to do what the hierarchy is doing…NOTHING.

About follow1in3

I am a Roman Catholic priest ordained for the Diocese of Wilmington, DE who is also a victim of clergy sexual abuse. I am often angered by the insensitiviy and hostility of other clergy, the hierarchy and the so-called people-of-God. If clergy, bishops included, really and truly understood abuse, (any kind of abuse), I would not feel the need to blog on occasion. It is very frustraing.
